Indications for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

GAS GANGRENE

Patients with gas gangrene, a dangerous soft tissue infection, are treated on an emergency basis at the Jacobi chamber.

ACUTE AIR EMBOLISM

Patients with iatrogenic air embolism, a complication of some invasive medical procedures, are transferred to Jacobi for life-saving treatment in the hyperbaric chamber.

Both these conditions are fortunately rare.
